Wheat stocks in North Dakota are up 74 percent from a year ago.
The Agriculture Department says stored wheat in the state on March 1 totaled 124 million bushels. On-farm stocks are estimated at 83 million bushels. That's an increase of nearly 200 percent.
Wheat stocks nationwide also are up. The 1 billion bushels in storage is a 46 percent jump.
