Fargo, ND - Ulteig Engineers, Inc. opened a new office in Denver, Colorado on October 1, 2008. The new office is in addition to the Fargo, Bismarck, Detroit Lakes, Minneapolis, and Sioux Falls locations. The company is also moving its Corporate Headquarters to a new location near the Urban Plains Center in Fargo.
The Denver office will become an important location for Ulteig’s energy-related projects—a discipline in which the company is a recognized industry leader. Ulteig’s Energy sector works with clients ranging in size from global energy producers to local cooperatives and delivers electric, fossil fuel, and renewable energy engineering services. These services include comprehensive planning, routing and permitting, surveying and right-of-way acquisition services. The Denver office has already completed several projects in the state and is currently working with energy clients including Xcel Energy.
“Many of our energy clients already have operations in Denver and this expansion enables us to better serve their needs as a local service provider,” says Brian Long, Ulteig Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. He continues, “Denver is also a GSA (General Services Administration) hub city and the office gives us a closer connection to Government-related building projects. Expansion into Colorado is a strategic move for Ulteig that positions the company to take a leadership role in the explosive growth happening in that market.”
The new Fargo corporate headquarters are located in a professional building within the Urban Plains development area just north of the Urban Plains Center at 4776 28th Ave S. The building houses the Corporate Leadership, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, and Marketing/Communications teams. The company also plans to locate their Renewable Energy group in the new location. Ulteig will occupy approximately 2/3 of the building or just over 17,000 square feet.
“In the last three years Ulteig has added nearly 50 percent of its workforce,” says Ulteig President and Chief Executive Officer Gerry Floden. “In this year alone the company has hired 90 people with 32 of those jobs located in Fargo. We expected to spend a decade in our first Fargo building but we outgrew it in only three years. We’re proud that our new Headquarters building will serve as an anchor building for the Urban Plains development area while providing us plenty of room to grow.”
Ulteig currently has four employees in the Denver location and will add 13 over the next few months. Overall the company totals just over 400 full time employees and interns and has 50 open positions available across its four sectors (Building Services, Energy, Civil, and Land Services). Ulteig's service area includes projects in more than 25 states and other countries including China.
