North Dakota Securities Commissioner Karen Tyler has ordered a Fargo businessman to quit doing securities business in the state.

Tyler says Bruce Hager is not a registered securities broker or dealer. She says he also has been barred nationally from selling securities by a federal licensing agency.

Hager pleaded guilty last year to eight felony charges involving the sale of unregistered securities or acting as an unregistered securities agent.

Authorities searched Hager's Fargo office last week and arrested him on gun charges. As part of a plea deal a year ago, Hager was ordered not to have any firearms.
