Fargo, ND - The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead announces Nancy Kelly, Command Center, as the recipient of its 2008 Associate of the Year award.
This award is presented each fall to recognize one outstanding associate member for effort and work expended in the interest of his or her fellow members, association and community. Kelly has demonstrated the highest standards of an HBA member by building both the image and strength of the association through service and dedication. She has been a member of the HBA since 1996.
Kelly was an Associate of the Year award nominee in 2006 and 2007 and has been a director on the HBA board for two years. She was chair of the New Member Development Committee, and is very active in member recruitment and volunteering for various association events. Next year, Kelly will serve as secretary on the board of directors’ executive committee. Her civic activities include volunteering to speak at YWCA Women’s Shelter, at The Village Family Service Center and S.C.O.R.E. She is a member of Shepherd’s Chapel Church, participated in the 2008 Tour de Habitat fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, was a PTA member at Lincoln Elementary and is active in Fargo Youth Hockey and Red River Soccer.
HBA Executive Vice President Bryce Johnson says, “In the 52-year history of the HBA, Nancy is a shining star among associate members. She has shown dedication and commitment to recruiting new members, and getting fellow members involved, that is second-to-none. Watching her grow into leadership positions over the years has been inspiring and impressive.”
As a recipient of the Fargo-Moorhead Associate of the Year award, Kelly will be included in a state-wide competition judged by the North Dakota Association of Builders. Winners will be announced at NDAB’s annual meeting in November.
The HBA of F-M represents more than 925 home builders and their associates in the housing industry throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area. The association is a nonprofit organization representing the building industry in several community events and projects throughout the F-M area.
