Fargo, ND - A Manitoba company wants to begin construction on a 150-megawatt wind farm in Rolette and Towner counties by next summer or fall.
Sequoia Energy U.S. has submitted its letter of intent and a map of its proposed location to the North Dakota Public Service Commission.
The commission will decide Wednesday whether to allow the company to begin seeking the required permits.
The $300 million Border Winds project would spread nearly 70 wind turbines over a 122-square-mile area and connect to an Xcel Energy transmission line.
The wind farm is expected to be operational by the fall of 2010.
